A powerful landmine was found from under a culvert by the police on Monday near Bhadutala village under the limits of Salboni police station in West Midnapore. Senior police officers of Salboni police station said the landmine was first spotted under a culvert by a patrol team on duty along the road linking Lalgarh with Midnapore.
“Bomb squad and Cobra teams were immediately alerted and the landmine was defused. We had to restrict traffic movement on the road for some time due to security reasons,” said an officer.
