Power cuts continue despite LG’s warnings

Despite stern warnings from Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, power cuts are still rampant in the city. Delhi Power distribution company Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) has stopped supplying electricity from 19 May to 21 May in more than 43 localities. Also, the scheduled power cuts have lasted for three to eight hours at a stretch.

TPDDL informed that they have to cut off power due to replacement of faulty distribution boxes, services, cables, piercing connectors-2, removal of illegal tapping, load balancing on light tension wire network and overall maintenance work. 

TPDDL’s Chief Executive Officer Praveer Sinha repeatedly said that planned scheduled power cuts have been stopped, while TPDDL’s Spokesperson said it would be continue till 31 May. It was started in January, 2014. 

Meanwhile, in the 43 areas receiving electricity from TPDDL, power cuts are expected to run up to a maximum of eight hours. In Tata Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL)-run areas, residents will have to face major power cuts lasting for three to eight hours since 19 May till 21 May in areas such as Narayana, Narela, Bawana,Keshav Puram, Shalimar Bagh, Moti Nagar, Civil Lines, Badli, Shakti Nagar, and Model Town.
