Posing for photos on railway track, two youths lose lives

The mobile mania proved fatal for a group of youths, as they came under the speeding Shatabdi train while taking a group photograph on railway line with their mobile in Ghaziabad.

The incident took place around 4.30 pm at Chandra Nagar railway station in Ghaziabad on Sunday, when a group of four friends was taking a photograph on the railway line.  According to police, Kamal, Monu and Ishwar were posing for the camera by sitting on the railway line while Rohit was taking pictures with their mobiles. They were so busy act that they did not notice the  Rajdhani Express coming at a fast pace.

While Kamal and Ishwar lost their lives on the spot,  Ishwar lost one of his legs and received serious injuries. He was rushed to district hospital of Ghaziabad. Rohit escaped unhurt.

‘They were recently employed in an advertising company and were returning  home in Shahdara after work in Ghaziabad,’ said S S Yadav, S P City of Ghaziabad.

Mobiles have proved fatal for many in the past. In January last year, two students were crushed to death by a speeding train, as their earphones were plugged into their ears and they did not hear the train coming in the Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad.

According to police, around a dozen people have lost their lives in similar accidents in Ghaziabad district only.
