Political uncertainty obstructing state development works: BJP

Update: 2014-01-30 00:20 GMT
In our state, the regular speculation of changing CM by some media section is making bureaucrats lethargic and less focused towards their duties. Consequently, the common man seems to be at cross-roads. In this situation, how one can think of development, when internal conflict among ruling party MLAs is creating a different scene that we never witness in our entire political life.’

BJP national secretary Trivendra Singh Rawat told while talking on different issues. He further said that why there is situation of wait and watch for the next move by the Congress high command.  If they think there is need of change of guard, then it should be done immediately for the welfare of the state.

He said that the state government is shedding crocodile tears of not getting enough funds for relief and rehabilitation work in disaster-hit regions. But the reality is that many non-government organizations and agencies donated with both hands to the chief minister relief fund. The central government helped the Bahuguna-led state government with every possible way. Then, why the relief fund is not reaching to the needy hands. Why this sad episode is not getting a happy end?
‘Many state governments also gave monetary aid other than donating food products, medicines, quilts, torches etc to the disaster-victims soon after the news of nature’s fury spread far and wide. But what our state government has done so far from the last seven months’, he asked.

The condition of Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines is still deplorable, and roads connectivity has not been resumed. BRO became the victim of state politics, as many cabinet ministers and ruling party MLAs criticized this central agency for snail-paced work. The BRO officers are discouraged due to this. They need encouragement and motivation for the work they have done. It was this same BRO who was given the tough task of making roads in high altitudes of Garhwal region soon after the Indo-Pak war in 1962. And, they did their task splendidly.

Decision on fate of Bahuguna soon

NEW DELHI:
Congress president Sonia Gandhi held a meeting with senior party leaders on Wednesday amid reports that a final call on the fate of Uttarakhand chief minister Vijay Bahuguna will be taken soon. Party general secretary Ambika Soni was present during the meeting besides senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Janardan Dwivedi and Ahmed Patel, Political secretary to the Congress chief.

After the meeting, party sources said that a decision on continuance or otherwise of Bahuguna as chief minister will be taken soon.  Bahuguna has been under pressure ever since he was appointed. The flash floods that hit Uttarakhand last year and the massive rescue and rehabilitation work they entailed also brought his leadership skills into question.
