A Police Inspector has been found in alleged possession of assets worth Rs 20 crore which are disproportionate to known sources of his income, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday said.
ACB officials booked Sheikh Hussain in a case of possessing disproportionate assets after conducting multi-city raids on premises linked to him.
Hussain is currently posted as Circle Inspector of Coastal Security Police (CSP) at Pudimadaka in this district.
The anti-graft agency officials said they seized documents showing the Inspector owned properties worth Rs 20 crore as per current market value.
ACB sleuths found the documents after conducting simultaneous raids at 16 places in Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam and a few other cities.
Talking to reporters, DSP of ACB (Visakhapatnam Urban) K Ramakrishna Prasad said the papers were seized from the residences of Hussain and his relatives.
