Police don’t rule out medical negligence after woman jumps off seventh floor
Police has yet not ruled out probability of medical negligence in Ghaziabad’s Pushpanjali Crossley Hospital incident on 7 November, in which a 59-year-old woman allegedly jumped off the
seventh floor of the hospital, police said on Saturday.
‘We are awaiting the woman’s postmortem report due late on Saturday. Right now it looks like a suicide case and an FIR has been registered, but the final call shall be taken only after we receive the post-mortem report,’ said the police official investigating the case.
The deceased — identified as Neena Sarvaria – was a resident of Greater Kailash area of Delhi. She was being treated at the Pushpanjali Crossley Hospital for depression. She was admitted on 30 October in the hospital’s private ward.
The woman allegedly jumped from the seventh floor of the hospital at 3 pm on Friday, police said. Anandi Lal, the doctor who was treating her, said she was suffering from acute depression.
‘If somebody from her family comes to us with a complaint, we will file a criminal case. We have now entered it as an accident case,’ a police official added.
