Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to reach out to farmers in poll-bound Bihar later this month where he is slated to address the agricultural scientific community on the occasion of the 87th ICAR Foundation Day in Patna.

This is for the first time in recent past that the foundation day of the government’s Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is being organised outside Delhi. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a mega rally in Muzaffarpur adjacent to the state capital, kicking off the BJP’s election campaign in the key Hindi state where it is making a serious bid to come to power along with allies. “The Prime Minister is going to address 2,500 agriculture scientists at the ICAR foundation day on July 25 in Patna,” Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh told reporters after the launch of three agri-portals.
