Update: 2014-08-03 23:32 GMT
‘In cricket, you get only one life but here you’ll get opportunities. I’ve a very good team headed by Jagmohan Dalmiya, we have to work together. It’s a different feeling to sit on this chair,’ Ganguly said remembering his late father Chandidas Ganguly who was also a CAB joint-secretary.

The 42-year-old, who also co-owns football franchise Atletico de Kolkata besides doing occasional commentary, spent about two hours and met Dalmiya to begin a new innings in cricket administration.

Asked how would he do justice to his role, Ganguly said: ‘If Mukesh Ambani can run so many companies together, why can’t I? I’ll have to be in my hometown for both football and CAB. I’ll be away only for a few months (for commentary)...’

He is known for his cricketing acumen on the field and Ganguly has already envisaged many a things to develop cricket in Bengal.
