The PIL filed by Yashwant Singh, a journalist, has alleged that Khan has been given preferential
treatment and it “violates” legal principles. Referring to an earlier SC decision, it said that the sessions court "passed the order of conviction and the order of sentencing on the same day, which is in violation of judgement of the Supreme Court of India...”.
