Director Sanjay Gupta says Priyanka Chopra's look in Babli Badmaash was inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's Yaarana song, especially the jumpsuit that he wore in the track.
Priyanka on Monday lauched the first look of the song that is part of the Gupta-directed Shootout At Wadala.
‘The song is not inspired from anybody but the outfit that Priyanka wore in the song with lights is. I have seen Yaarana when I was in school and I was inspired by Amitji's jumpsuit. So I wanted to do that and was waiting for the special occasion so we did it,’ Gupta said.
The film also features John, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Tusshar Kapoor, Kangna and Manoj Bajpayee.
PC feels the item girl tag has been overdone. ‘I don't think it's a tag and I think this item girl thing has been overdone. We don't used to call Helenji that. When you do a song and dance in somebody else's film, it's like a guest appearance. The moment you say it's an item song, it cheapens it a little bit,’ she said.
