With the Delhi Assembly elections drawing near, BJP has sought suggestions from industry honchos for innovative campaigning involving social media. State party unit has called a meeting of executives of MNCs and social media specialists to discuss blueprint of its election campaign on 29 November.
‘We want to use their expertise in our election campaign. In this meeting, we have invited several executives of multi-national companies and social media specialists to seek their suggestions in creating party’s innovative campaign,’ said a BJP leader.
He also said that on that day, senior party leaders will discuss the blueprint of party’s campaign strategy to reach out to every person of the society, especially the youth. ‘During discussions, we will also focus on social media as it is prominent tool to reach out to youths. On the suggestions of social media specialists, party will work out and make strategy,’ he also said.
Meanwhile, for the purpose of taking the BJP membership campaign directly to the people, BJP’s youth wing will initiate membership campaign in the buses in the national Capital from Thursday.
Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay also made an assessment of the party’s membership campaign and the Swacchta Abhiyan by the various zones of both the corporations in trans Yamuna area.
Meanwhile, the youth wing of Delhi BJP is adopting unconventional ways to induct maximum people into the party during its ongoing membership drive.
They are now planning to catch citizens during their leisure time such as in malls, markets or in public places such as DTC buses and ‘convince’ them to join the party.
‘We are going to launch a three-day drive starting on Thursday to target commuters in DTC buses and convince them to be a member of the party. They can join either by filling the form or giving a missed call’, said Nakul Bhardwaj, president of BJP’s Delhi youth wing.
The campaign will be flagged-off by Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay from Shivaji Stadium Bus Terminal on Thursday.
‘We will run the campaign on major routes of the city for three days and then it will be handed over to district units to cover the remaining routes,’ added Bhardwaj.
The youth wing of the party is also targeting visitors at the ongoing trade fair (IITF-2014).
