Paddy procurement in Punjab goes up by 10%

More than 19.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has sofar arrived in various mandis of Haryana during the current Kharif season as compared to over 17.98 lakh meteric tonnes of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year. While stating this here on Thursday, a spokesman of Haryana Food and Supplies Department said out of the total arrival of paddy, maximum quantity of paddy has arrived in district Kurukshetra which is over 5.41 lakh metric tonnes. Karnal received over 5.33 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, district Kaithal over 3.47 lakh metric tonnes, Fatehabad over 1.89 lakh metric tonnes, Ambala received more than 1.69 lakh metric tonnes, Yamunanagar 89,194 metric tonnes, Panchkula 37,777 metric tonnes, Sirsa 29,205 metric tonnes, Jind 27,818 metric tonnes, Panipat 18,348 metric tonnes and Sonepat 3065 metric tonnes.
