Opinion poll projects grand alliance’s victory

In a jolt to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the opinion poll conducted by News Nation, a private news channel, on Wednesday projected that the Mahagadbandhan would get more seats than 
NDA alliance in the Bihar Assembly elections. 

According to <g data-gr-id="20">opinion</g> poll, the grand alliance comprising JD-U, <g data-gr-id="22">RJD</g> and Congress will get 125-129 <g data-gr-id="21">seats,</g> while NDA will be restricted to 111-115 seats in the 243-seat Assembly.

The poll pointed out that development would be the top issue for voters, followed by price hike of essential commodities. A total of 46 <g data-gr-id="29">per cent</g> of the voters surveyed said they would keep development in mind while casting their franchise, while 23 <g data-gr-id="30">per cent</g> said price rise would be the main issue and 11 <g data-gr-id="31">per cent</g> talked about corruption as the main issue. Answering which party would be better suited to tackle the issues, 46 <g data-gr-id="32">per cent</g> backed the NDA, while 44 <g data-gr-id="33">per cent</g> supported the Mahagadbandhan.

According to opinion poll, incumbent Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is still the most suitable candidate for the post as 47 <g data-gr-id="24">per cent</g> voted in his favour, while 27 <g data-gr-id="25">per cent</g> want to see Sushil Modi as the next CM. The issue on the CM face may haunt the NDA alliance as 56 per cent <g data-gr-id="17">have</g> said that the NDA should declare its CM candidate before the state goes to polls.
