Former Chief Minister and patron of Jan Kranti Party Kalyan Singh said that his return to BJP was a matter of time and his party would merge with Bharatiya Janata Party at the opportune time which is round the corner.

‘I would join the BJP to unite the nationalist forces as only this party can counter corrupt and divisive politics,’ Singh told reporters from Etah, his parliamentary constituency where he held a meeting with party workers elaborating on his plans to rejoin the BJP.

Singh said he would re-join BJP at the right time for the cause of uniting nationalist forces. ‘I am in no mood of alliance. We will merge our party into the BJP at the right time,’ he said. Kalyan said he had positive talks with state BJP leadership and the date for this rejoning the BJP would be finalised after talks with the national president Nitin Gadkari.

On corruption charges against Gadkari and Robert Vadra he said that the charges levelled against Gadkari and Vadra were of the same nature. ‘Like Gadkari, who has welcomed probe into the matter, Congress should also welcome probe against Vadra,’ he opined.

He alleged that by announcing release of accused of blasts in Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow, the SP government was trying to create communal tension in the state. When asked about the 6 Dec, 1992 incident, the then CM claimed that it was his directive that security forces will not open fire on kar sewaks. ‘If any one holds me responsible for the demolition, let it be like that,’ he said.

Former BJP chief Rajnath Singh expressed hope that Kalyan’s return to BJP will strengthen the party. He said that Kalyan Singh had very impressive stint as CM.
