ONGC Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sudhir Vasudeva received the 'Man of the Year' award in the Oil and Gas Category from Union New & Renewable Energy Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah at the sixth Enertia Awards held in the capital.
He was given the highly prestigious award for his lifetime of contribution to India's oil & gas sector and for leading ONGC's strategy of overseas acquisition of critical and strategic oil and gas assets.
The winners were selected by a team of 11 jurists comprising of eminent personalities from Renewable Energy Promotion Association, NTPC, Toshiba, Jindal Power, BHEL and Enertia Foundation.
ONGC has also been awarded the Best Energy Resource and Oil & Gas sector organization of the year award by the jury.
The Enertia Awards are the benchmark awards for excellence in energy & power and given to both public and private sector enterprises. The key areas which were the focus of attention in the 6th edition of the awards were hydro-power, solar energy, wind energy, decentralised and distributed power.
