One-way traffic plan to ensure smooth ride in Noida

Update: 2016-01-25 23:45 GMT
In a move to facilitate smooth vehicular flow at key roads, the Noida Police have implemented a one-way traffic plan in the city. The plan is being implemented in a phased way.

To start with, the police have implemented the plan on a stretch connecting Udyog Marg with Noida Sector 5, considered to be the most congested road in Noida.

The plan was implemented partially on Saturday and Sunday, but will be fully enforced from Monday onwards.

In order to ensure proper implementation of the plan, the department has removed encroachments on both sides along the stretch and has closed illegal cuts. The plan is expected to provide smooth traffic to commuters coming from Delhi and other areas of Noida.

Superintendent of Police (city) Dinesh Yadav said that the one-way plan would ensure faster connectivity between Delhi and inner circles of Noida.

“On Friday, the trial of the one-way plan was conducted so that we could identify the bottlenecks on the 5-km stretch snd implement measures to solve them. On Saturaday and Sunday, partial implementation was enforced. JCBs were used to raze encroachments in two areas in Sector-5 and Bans Bali market. We have already warned around 300 industrialists, who park their vehicles along roads,” the official said.

“Signages and barricades, indicating one-way plan, have been put up at each intersection. Around two dozen traffic constables and six sub-inspectors under the supervision of senior police officials will monitor traffic regulation. The timings for the one-way plan have been proposed from 8am to 8pm,” the official added.

From Sunday, commuters coming from New Ashok Nagar, Akshardham (in Delhi) and Sector 18 will get one way passage from Sector 15 intersection to reach Sector 11 via Udyog Marg.

Commuters coming from Noida Stadium, Sectors 11 and 12 will get one-way passage from Shahni furniture to Sector 15 via Sector 5 and Naya Bans road.
