One Held For Rs One Crore Robbery At Muthoot Firm

A 30-year-old man has been arrested by Delhi Police for involvement in a Rs 1 crore robbery at Muthoot Finance company’s office in June.

Kaushal Chauhan was arrested from north Delhi’s Pitampura Metro station on Wednesday evening. His arrest led to the recovery of the robbed gold jewellery worth Rs 1 crore, and Rs 8 lakh.

‘Chauhan, along with his three other associates, robbed a Muthoot Finance office situated in north Delhi’s Rohini sector-7 on 22 June after overpowering the guard,’ said Deputy Commissioner of Police B S Jaiswal.

Following the complaint of Harish Saini, account assistant of Muthoot Finance, a trap was laid on the basis of inputs which led to the arrest of Chauhan. His arrest also helped police bust a gang of robbers.

Chauhan revealed his involvement in the crime.

‘He disclosed that after matrimonial dispute with his wife and heavy loss in business, he came under a financial burden. Finding no option, he planned to commit the robbery. For this, he visited Bhiwani district in Haryana and conspired with his known persons Rahul, Amit and Paramjeet to commit robbery at the Muthoot Finance office,’ said the officer.
