One dead, 9 injured in roof collapse in N Delhi

A labourer was killed and nine others injured after a roof of a two-storeyed under-construction godown collapsed on Monday in Alipur area of North Delhi.

The body of a man was pulled out of the debris even as rescue work was on at the accident site, a fire department official said. The roof of the godown located on National Highway-1, which had been laid on Monday itself, caved in at around 8.30 pm. Nine labourers were injured and a few others are still feared trapped, DCP (Outer Delhi) Vikramjit Singh said. The injured are being rushed to nearby hospitals including Satyawadi Harish Chander Hospital in Narela.
