The CBSE Class X examination results were declared on Thursday. Of the 13,28,935 students who cleared the exam, 94,474 scored the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 10, with 8,026 students from the national Capital achieving the score.

Students of Panchkula region <g data-gr-id="43">aced</g> the highest CGPA score in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam in the entire country, followed by Chennai and Patna regions.

Of the students who appeared in Panchkula region, 15,479 scored the highest CGPA.

Students from Chennai gave close competition, with 15,471 making it to the top-most grade level. In Patna, 13775 were among the highest scoring in the country.

CGPA is the average of grade points obtained in all the subjects excluding the sixth additional subject. Students have the option of taking school-based or board-based exams.

Of the total students who scored 10 CGPA, 49,392 were boys and 45,082 were girls. The highest number of students qualifying for admission to a higher class was from Thiruvananthapuram region (99.77 percent). In Delhi, the percentage of students qualifying for the same was 96.29.

“Our students have done extremely well. A total of 581 students appeared from our school and all of them have passed. A total of 136 scored 100 percent, with which we are extremely happy,” DK Saini, principal of Delhi Public School (RK Puram), said.

Girls pipped boys in the results with 97.82 percent qualifying for the next class compared to 96.98 percent for the boys.

“The pass percentage of girls was higher than boys this year too. This year the percentage of girls qualified for admission in higher classes is 97.82 as compared to that of boys which is 96.98,”said Rama Sharma, spokesperson of CBSE in Delhi. 

“This year the number of examinees was increased by 3.37 percent in comparison to last year,”she added. As per the information by the CBSE, out of nearly 13 lakh examinees, a total of 45082 girls secured a perfect 10 CGPA while 49,392 boys secured the perfect score. “Even though the number of examinees increased this year the pass percentage has dropped by 1.55 percent this ye<g data-gr-id="77">ar,”informed S</g>harma. The result was declared at 2 pm but due to problems in servor the students reported difficulty in getting their results for over two hours.  

In Delhi, the aggregate pass percentage of board based students under CCE scheme was 94.81 percent while 96.60 percent school based examinees qualified the exam. The pass percentage of students in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Delhi was 99.48 percent followed by Navodaya Vidyalayas at 99.30 percent. The independent private schools in Delhi came at third with 97.37 pass percent. 

The examination for academic year 2014-15 was conducted from March 2 to March 26 at various centres across the country. According the board, during the examination only six students were caught for using unfair means out of which four were at Patna regiona and one each at Ajmer and Dehrudun. Thiruvananthapuram region showed the best performance amongst students with a pass percentage of 99.77.

<g data-gr-id="116">Yeesheshvi</g> <g data-gr-id="117">Bhandana</g>, daughter of Congress leader Shyamdev <g data-gr-id="118">Bhandana</g>, a student of DPS Vasant Kunj secured 10 CGPA in her CBSE class X examination.

Vaishali Chauhan, daughter of Rakesh Chauhan, district information officer, Noida, secured a perfect 10 CGPA. She is a student of Father Agnel School, Noida. 

Prakhar Joshi, son of Anita Joshi, an employee at Delhi Transco Limited, secured a 9.6 CGPA in his 
class X CBSE examination.
