A consortium led by Hitachi has bagged a contract worth Rs 2390 crore from the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation (DFCC) for supply and installation of signalling and telecommunications systems between Delhi and Mumbai corridor.
Two contract agreements were signed - Design and construction of signalling and Telecom works and Train Protection and Warning System (TPWS) works on Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, said a senior DFCC official.
The first contract worth Rs 1780 crore for 915 km long route Double Line between Rewari to Vadodara was signed with Hitachi Limited as the lead partner, Mitsui, Texmaco and Hitachi India Ltd as other partners. Another contract worth Rs 610 crore for 1370 km long route between Rewari and JNPT (Mumbai) for design and construction of Train Protection and Warning System (TPWS) Works for Double Line has also been signed with Hitachi Limited as the lead partner, Mitsui and Hitachi India Ltd as other partners.
The contract was signed by DFCC director DS Rana, and Mino, Deputy GM, Hitachi Ltd. Japan in the presence of DFCC MD Adesh Sharma. The work will involve the use of all the latest Signalling & Telecom Technologies.
