American actor and writer, Martin Moran, is set to tour India with his two award-winning one-man-shows - The Tricky Part and All the Rage. Both the shows explore Moran’s real life experiences. Deftly crafted by director Seth Barrish and produced by Poorna Jagannathan, Moran offers a first-hand perspective on sexual abuse. Full of complexity, honesty and surprising humor, his shows leave the audience transformed and deeply engaged with a subject previously inaccessible to them.
The plays, each 80 minute long, will tour across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. The Tricky Part tells the true story of sexuality, spirituality and the mystery of human experience. Between the ages of 12 and 15, the author had a sexual relationship with an older man. Now 42 and an established New York actor, he has transformed his story into a riveting, often funny and always surprising journey throughout the complexities of Catholicism, desire and human trespass.
All The Rage shows how Martin wondered for most of his adult life about anger. Surely he should have more rage about the sexual abuse he faced as a child? Everyone thinks so. The question haunts him and sends him on a quest that takes him to unexpected parts of the world. With equal parts honesty and entertainment, All The Rage is a soulful show that dares to go where most theater doesn’t venture- a journey deep into the self.
