A 28-year-old nurse was allegedly gang-raped repeatedly for three days by two men at a 5-star hotel in Delhi. Both the accused, reportedly employees of the same hotel, have been arrested.
The incident took place on 15 August at The Oberoi hotel on Zakir Hussain Marg, when a nurse from a renowned private hospital went to provide medical assistance to the mother of the hotel’s owner. The elderly woman lives in a suite at the hotel.
According to the victim, on Friday when she reached the hotel she met two persons who also worked at The Oberoi hotel as private attendants to the elderly woman. The duo took turns to rape her and threatened her of dire consequences if she reported the matter. The accused has been identified as Rajan (20) and Neeraj (25). On the intervening night of Sunday and Monday she approached Nizammudin police station and filed a complaint.
‘Based on her complaint, she was sent for a medical examination that confirmed rape. On Monday the duo were arrested,’ P Karunakaran, DCP (south-east) said.
Speaking to Millennium Post, Deepica Sharma, Communication Manager at The Oberoi hotel, said, ‘The incident is very unfortunate and we are fully cooperating with the police.’
