National Commission for Women (NCW) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Monday with National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC) in New Delhi on ‘Sensitising the staff of NTPC on gender issues’.
AC Chaturvedi, executive director (PMI) signed the MoU on behalf of NTPC while Sunita H Khurana, joint secretary, NCW, signed it on behalf of the commission. According to the MoU, NCW and NTPC will work together for holding workshops to sensitise the staff of NTPC on gender related issues and appropriate behaviour at workplace, especially in view of the sexual harassment of women at workplace. The commission will provide technical assistance such as resource persons and contents for development of resource material for holding these workshops.
Charu Walikhanna, Nirmala Samat Prabhavalkar, Shamina Shafiq members, the member secretary and other officials of the commission were present on the occasion.
