As a part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Union government, NTPC Faridabad has given sewing machines to 38 women.

These women have been trained by Navpath, an NGO being run in the premises of the Faridabad Gas Power Station. It is giving training in tailoring, beautician's skills, embroidery, electrician and spoken English to women.

The machines and training certificates were distributed by NTPC Regional Executive Director (REC) A N Dave at a program at Dr Ambedkar Hall in the Faridabad Gas Power Station township. Students, teachers and senior NTPC executives were also present on the occasion.  NTPC General Manager N N Mishra welcomed the guests and certificates were issued to the students from the Women's Polytechnic of Haryana.

Several of the women who received the training and certification have gotten jobs at the nearby garment factories and government departments.
