Three persons, who provided drugs to NRI student Anmol Sarna, now dead, and his four friends for their party, have been arrested, police claimed on Friday.
They had supplied LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) to Sarna and his friends in mid September. The main drug peddler is still absconding.
The racket of selling and purchasing drugs, sources said, is not restricted within the boundaries of the capital and NCR. Consignments are couriered from countries including China. ‘It has emerged that few emails were sent to users in China, Singapore and Hong Kong. The users of those ids are suspected to be pimp/drug peddlers behind the drug supply. Through emails the order for the banned substances in India were placed and they were sent to the drug suppliers in India through couriers,’ an official close to investigation said requesting anonymity.
The arrested persons have been identified as Bhuvan alias Poter, Nehul and Dushyant. Bhuvan is a friend of Madhav, who has already been booked under section 27 of NDPS Act along with three others — Praneel, Rhytham and Shivang.
Bhuvan and Nehul have been sent to one day judicial custody whereas Dushyant has been sent to one day police custody.
‘The trio entered into the drug supply business to earn easy money to live a lavish life,’ the official said.
Another official added, ‘The three arrested accused informed that they paid the money to their foreign dealers online through Western Union Bank. We have recovered lot of emails talking about the demand and supply of the drugs. Consignment used to come through couriers.’ ‘The email ids will help us trace the suppliers in India and the drug peddlers in China. We are checking the bank transactions of the arrested persons,’ a senior police officer said.
Bhuvan and Nehul came under police scanner when the mobile phone records of all the five friends were checked. Their numbers were put under surveillance on Thursday. They were nabbed from Noida. After interrogation they led the police to Dushyant.
The duo told police that they used to target young people by contacting them through emails, Facebook and other social networking sites. ‘Further investigation is on to bust the drug racket,’ the official added.
