Commenting on the service, Prabhakara Rao, CEO of Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd (DIAL), said: “Baby stroller is the latest addition to our range of unique passenger-friendly initiatives and services. We understand that travelling with babies can be a logistical challenge for parents. Keeping this in view we try to do our best to accommodate the needs of the youngest of our travellers and make things easier for parents.”

Often parents, who carried their own strollers, have to take their children on lap, fold the strollers and get them checked in as registered baggage. With the facility in place, parents carrying their toddlers are offered free DIAL branded strollers to carry their children up to the boarding gates and leave the strollers there and board their respective flights.

Dedicated DIAL staff will collect the strollers from the boarding gates, sterilise them and bring them back to the kid’s stroller stand at the boarding area. The facility is available at both the terminals 1D and T3.

DIAL has also initiated a number of short-term measures such as double entry gates, improving check-in facilities by installing CUSS kiosks, mobile check-in counters, self-baggage drop facility, installation of additional security scanners, expansion of buzzing gates and SHA Area, increasing manpower to facilitate gate queues management and provision of flap gates to allow passengers to move to SHA at the right time. These measures have helped the IGIA to significantly handle the increased passenger footfall.
