It was good news for Sub-City Dwarka residents on Wednesday as the Delhi Jal Board started its largest command tank. Through this, the area is entitled to get about 60 million litre of additional water every day. “DJB had taken over water supply and sewerage services in Dwarka area from DDA only on March 31 of this year. Thereafter, it has worked over night and improved the water and sewerage services in the area tremendously,” said DJB official. In addition to rectification and commissioning of three command tanks and many kilometers of water lines earlier, DJB has started trial run of command tank 1 now. “These tanks were constructed by DDA around 15 years back but were not made operational due to shortage of water. Consequentially, all peripheral water lines of a length of more than 15 kms laid around 10 years back were lying defunct,” he said. our correspondent
