Former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said she was not aware of her inclusion in the election committee but will surely try to do her best for her party in respect to the role assigned to her.

The announcement of the three committees-election, manifesto and publicity-give credence to the Congress promise of getting fresh blood and experience together. However, the party has also kept seniors in the loop. For instance, Dikshit has been assigned with a key role in the decision on tickets.

There are reports that a section of the party is agitated for not including Dikshit’s son and former
MP Sandeep in any committee what-so-ever announced by the AICC on Monday.

The party, which faced a drubbing in the last Assembly polls, plans to hold a closed-door workshop to strategise on how to take on the AAP and the saffron brigade in the state elections.

The party also plans to constitute separate campaign committees for each of the 70 Assembly segments to counter the BJP move to field 300-odd MPs in the coming elections.
