In an action against non-payment of property tax, the North Municipal Corporation of Delhi (North MCD) has attached the properties of Ritz Cinema and five other commercial Godowns.
According to an official, Ritz Cinema located near bas stand at Kashmiri gate is defaulting Rs Rs 40-crore tax for years. The department concerned had earlier issued a notice to Ritz Cinema in this regard earlier too, but it did not pay heed to the notice.
The North MCD has also attached the properties of five other commercial godowns in Mundka area.
“The property tax department attached the above mentioned properties over non-payment of dues. Notices have also been issued to them. Further action may be taken if they do not pay the dues,” the official said.
