North civic body docs to be trained by AIIMS specialists

North Municipal Corporation of Delhi has entered in to an agreement with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to train doctors of the civic body in early diagnosis and treatment in fields such as gynaecology and communicable, infectious and nutritional diseases, with latest technology.

‘We have finalised a plan where doctors of North MCD would be trained by specialists of AIIMS. It would be helpful in upgrading the medical facility of the corporation and improving community services,’ said Mahendra Nagpal, Leader of House in North MCD.

The training would be focussed mainly on diseases such as anaemia, leprosy, dengue, malaria and venereal diseases. Nagpal added that the training would start in April. Nagpal will present the final budget of North MCD- 2013-14 in the special meeting of the House on Monday. In the budget proposal, Nagpal will move a five -point formula to improve the civic services. ‘The five ‘S’ of the budget are sanskar, sahyog, sampark, swabhimaan and swavlamb, to bring the civic body closer to the people,’ said Nagpal.

The training of doctors  is part of sampark programme of the budget.

‘We will launch new life insurance policies of the corporation for students and employees and the old system of insurance with Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) will be scrapped,’ he said.

He added that the decision has been taken to provide the insurance money to relatives of insured students and employees within 48 hours.

The corporation has also planned to purchase two steel benches for each ward and new style dustbins in the parks.
