The India Food Banking Network (IFBN) has opened its third food bank in Noida and Ghaziabad on Thursday. Chaired by Sam Pitroda, the IFNB works in collaboration with the Ponty Chaddha Foundation with the aim of feeding the poor and hungry people. Initially, the bank will provide food grains and non-perishable packaged foods to 40 families in 15 villages and the number is expected to grow in near future.
The bank collects food items from various donors and shops and stores the food in the warehouses. From there, volunteers distribute it to the poor and needy suffering from hunger and malnutrition. The warehouse for the food supply in Noida and Ghaziabad would be stored at Waves City, Ghaziabad. The first food bank by IFBN was opened in 2012 in Delhi and a week ago, it had opened its second bank in Gurgaon.
