Noida cracks down on encroachers along Yamuna, Hindon floodplains

In a major drive  against encroachment on the floodplains of Yamuna and the Hindon river in the area, the anti-encroachment team of Noida demolished several farm houses and restaurants spread over 200 acres of land. The authority also lodged police complaints under various sections against the encroachers at the Surajpur police station of Greater Noida.

'Any construction on the river floodplain is completely illegal and will be demolished in future too. We will develop the area as parks, recreation centres and playgrounds to 
save it from land sharks,' said Rama Raman, chief executive officer (CEO) of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Authorities. 

In Friday’s anti-encroachment drive, heavy police force under the leadership of SP Greater Noida was deployed to prevent any unwanted incident. The anti-encroachment team was led by Rajesh Pradhan. On Friday, mainly two village areas, Bandoli Bangar and 
Kambakshpur targetted by the anti-encroachment team.
