If you are a resident of Noida and have been harassed by realtors, you are headed for some respite.

To ensure that homebuyers are not harassed by realtors, the Noida Authority has decided to frame a set of guidelines on the basis of the UP Apartment Act 2010. Noida Authority at its board meeting approved the proposal to adopt the Act to protect the interests of homebuyers and control the realty sector.

Rama Raman, chairman Noida Authority, said, ‘The board has approved the move to formulate of new guidelines and implement the Act in the city. We will prepare new rules and regulations and propose them in our next meeting that will take place in next three-four months. These regulations will have to be followed by the realtor.’

Raman added that the authority will appoint a nodal officer who will make sure that the regulations have been drafted as per the Act and they are being implemented in the city. There have been cases of realtors cheating on the homebuyers.

Though the UP Apartments Act was implemented in the entire state in 2010, seven major industrial cities were excluded comprising Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway because the UP Industrial Act 1976 was applicable here.
