No fresh heat wave-related death was reported in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Wednesday as several places in the states received rain, bringing down the <g data-gr-id="19">merculy</g> level.
According to Met department, Tuesday's showers occurred at a few places over coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions of Andhra Pradesh while isolated spells of rain hit Telangana.
"On Tuesday, the maximum temperatures fell appreciably at one or two places over coastal Andhra and markedly rose at one or two places over Rayalaseema. They were <g data-gr-id="18">markedly</g> below normal at one or two places over coastal Andhra and below normal at a few places over Rayalaseema," the Met department said.
The highest maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius was recorded at Nellore and Jangamaheshwarapuram yesterday, it said. As many as 1,735 people died due to heat wave till 9pm on Tuesday and the figures pertain to the period from May 18. The toll in Telangana stands at 585 from April 15 till May 30.
According to the Met department, on Tuesday, maximum temperatures rose markedly at one or two places were appreciably above normal at one or two other places over Telangana.
