No attestation for government work in Bengal from 1Dec: CM

The West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Friday that applicants would not require to have their documents attested for most of the official government works from 1 December. self-attestation will be considered valid.

‘Our cabinet has decided that from 1 December, 2014, attestation and affidavit in most government works will not be required. Applicants will themselves be competent to self-attest, unless there is a specific legal requirement,’ Mamata said on her Facebook page.

Meanwhile, at a meeting with investors, Mamata said that the state government has land for small scale industries and the information technology sector, but not for large scale industries.’

The government will give you land, you set up your business. Don’t quarrel, or, you will not be able to do business,’ Mamata said while interacting with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FICCI) National Executive Committee members. ‘If you want to do information technology, I have the land bank. If you want to do small scale industries, I have the land bank. If you want to do big industries, you have the land bank,’ she said.
