B Surender Mohan, CMD, Neyveli Lignite Corp. Ltd. inaugurated the two day 4th International Conference on Corporate Governance with Theme ‘Emerging Economies : Innovation, Sustainability and Challenges’ at the Hotel Marigold, Green Park, and Hyderabad.
Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad, Accounting Research Institute (ARI), University Technology MARA (UTM), Malaysia and Institute of Business Research, University of Waikato, New Zealand jointly organized the Conference and it was divided into five technical sessions, and they are chaired by experts from academia / industry, and these papers focused on the challenges of corporate governances in the emerging economies. In his inaugural address, Surender Mohan said that ‘Best corporate governance practice is ethos of the organization to fulfill its balanced objectives with accountability and transparency and equal concern for all stakeholders’ and he highlighted the various issues relating to the best practices of corporate governance. He also shared his views with relation to the present context and its implications to the NLC board. He further also added until the board members are completely aware of the functioning of the organization, it would be difficult for them to arrive at any strategic decision Narayana Rao, CMD, MIDHANI delivered the Keynote address.
