Nine youths were taken into custody here today after a 17-year-old student was killed in the Old City area, in an alleged mock street fight with another youth, a police official said.

Nabil Ahmed had collapsed and died in what began as a mock street fight with another youth at Panjesha here on May 3, in an incident involving nearly nine other youths, Mirchowk police station’s inspector V Yadagiri Reddy said, adding that all the nine are being questioned in police custody.

“Nabil’s body was exhumed and a postmortem was conducted. The nine youths have been taken into custody and are being questioned. However, nobody has been arrested,” police said.
