Sources said that NIA would soon take over the probe from the local police. Five people were killed and 83 others were injured in seven explosions that rocked Patna on Sunday morning. The condition of two of the injured is reported to be critical. Cops have arrested one person in connection with the deadly blasts, even as four live bombs were recovered from Gandhi Maidan, the venue of the BJP rally. The home ministry has told the state government to send a report about the nature of the bomb, suspected persons or organisations, which could be behind it and steps taken to maintain law and order, official sources said.
Minister of state for home RPN Singh said that teams of the National Security Guards (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) were being rushed to Patna to investigate the bomb blasts in the Bihar capital. Terming the blasts ‘unfortunate’, the minister told reporters, ‘The home ministry has decided to rush NSG and NIA teams to Bihar to inquire into the whole blast sequence’.
