The National Green Tribunal on Wednesday gave its nod to the construction of a CNG station in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Park in Sector 14 Gurgaon.
A bench, headed by NGT chairperson Justice Swantanter Kumar, also directed the owner of the station to pay Rs 5 lakh for ensuring upkeep of the environment.
The Tribunal also directed Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to plant 400 trees before any construction work of the CNG sStation is commenced. The station would partly fall in the green belt area and 40 trees are likely to be cut for its construction.
