In addition, a new helpline has been introduced for the convenience of taxpayers. Singh informed that in the financial year 2012-13, 62 per cent submitted the tax online. However, this year with the help of additional arrangement, the number is likely to go up to 80 per cent.
'The corporation's policy to provide 2 per cent extra rebate for filing property tax returns online, in case of current tax liability up to Rs 5000, has been quite successful in encouraging taxpayers to file returns online,' Singh added. He further informed that all zonal officers will be opened for public on 22, 28, 29 and 30 June for depositing tax.
