The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), information and technology wing of Indian Railways, has launched a new free mobile application on android platform for train enquiry.
Sadananda Gowda, union railway minister, in August this year had launched the same application on Windows platform. The new mobile application will help commuters in tracking information on expected arrival and departure time of a train, and other such useful information.
‘The National Train Enquiry System (NTES) app is the comprehensive system which provides information to public about train running on near real time basis through various interfaces like nationwide unique rail enquiry number 139, website, mobile interfaces, and Display Boards at stations’, read the official statement.
One of the best features of the app is’ ‘spot your train’ which provides information such as its current position.
