Nepali maid gang-raped in S Delhi

A 19-year-old girl was gang-raped by three men after she lost her way on Tuesday night in the Vasant Kunj area. All the accused, including a juvenile, were nabbed by Delhi police on Wednesday.

According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday evening when the victim, who was working as a maid, was returning to her rented residence in south Delhi. She hails from Nepal and came to Delhi two days ago.

Mid-way near Munirka, due to a dark stretch, she lost her way. She approached a man asking for help. Finding her alone and nervous, he misguided her and took her to an isolated place. Meanwhile, the accused informed his two friends too.

All three accused, who have been identified as Sandeep (25), Ashish (21) and a 17-year-old boy, raped her one by one. The victim approached the Vasant Kunj police station with the help of a passerby, who took her written complaint and sent her for a medical examination.

On Wednesday morning, reports confirmed rape and a case of gang-rape was registered against unknown persons. A man-hunt was made to trace the accused on the basis of the description provided by the victim. On Wednesday all accused were arrested and booked under section-376 (B) of the Indian Penal Code.
