Police have arrested an 18-year-old youth for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl, who was recovered from his house in Noida Sector 27 area on Tuesday.
The 14-year-old girl was reported missing on Monday, when she didn’t return home from a nearby locality. Police have claimed that the accused, who is in police custody, has confessed to the crime. According to the sources in police, the accused, identified as Surendra Awana, was her neighbour and wanted to marry the girl.
During the police investigation, it was revealed that Awana, was stalking the girl for a long time. The girl’s family had also warned the accused on several occasions in the past.
‘We have recovered the minor and have sent her for medical examination. The accused has also been held and further investigations will be conducted to ascertain exact reason behind the kidnapping’, said Shivram Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Noida.
He further added that there was no external injury on the girl’s body. ‘But things will only be clear once medical report will come’, the DSP added.
