NDA government approves service apartments in hotels

There is good news for those who want to live life kingsize. The NDA government has approved a proposal to allow building of service apartments in hotels in <g data-gr-id="21">national</g> capital as a part of <g data-gr-id="22">review</g> of Master Plan of Delhi-2021.

Many people feel that the move will come as a boon to investors, foreigners, businessmen and delegates, who can now own or rent service apartments at cheaper rates as compared to hotel fares for a longer period for personal or professional requirement. 

Not the least, it will also allow the owner or those who will stay on rent to maintain their privacy, which is not usually allowed in the hotel rooms.

The Urban Development Ministry has already approved a proposal. Sources in the ministry said, “Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has made a proposal after detailed deliberations and invited suggestions and objections in this regard. Soon, the DDA will make an official announcement.”

Under the revised Development Controls for Commercial Centres rules on hotels, a maximum of 40 <g data-gr-id="19">per cent</g> of Floor Area Ratio (FAR) could be used for commercial offices, retail and service shops and residential purposes. However, residential units would be permissible up to 20 <g data-gr-id="20">per cent</g> of FAR.
