NBFC giant Muthoottu Mini plans to expand operations in a big way

Non-banking finance company (NBFC) Muthoottu Mini Financiers Private Ltd, the flagship company of the 91-year-old Mini Muthoottu Group, opened its Sunder Vihar branch in New Delhi on Thursday.

The inauguration was attended by Jagdish Tytler,  Managing Director Nizy Mathew, and Muthoottu Mini CEO Govindaraj.

 Muthoottu Mini Financiers Pvt Ltd is a mass provider of finance in the form of gold loans with branches spread across the cities, towns and villages of India. The company offers products like non-convertible debentures and gold loans. It has since built an impressive level of business and made for itself a reputation for reliability in private banking circles throughout Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

 Various other Companies in this group include Mini Muthoottu Nidhi (Kerala) Ltd., Cochin Mini Muthoottu Nidhi Ltd, Muthoottu Mini Hotels (P) Ltd, Muthoottu Mini Theatres (P) Ltd. and Muthoottu Mini Builders. The group members conduct their business through a network of branches established, 183 Branches in Kerala, 32 branches in Bangalore and 72 branches in Tamil Nadu.  All NBFC’s in the group strictly conform to the guidelines issued by the Department of Company Affairs and Reserve Bank of India, besides the provisions of other laws and statutes as applicable.

The investors’ confidence that all the financing firms of the group today command, and the niche that they have since made for themselves in the private banking system in the country is assuredly the result of this resilience. A sizable number of its depositors are pensioners and senior citizens. 

Established in 1921 at Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta, Kerala by M Mathew, Mini Muthoottu was initially a small firm engaged in financing and in the chit fund business. Subsequently, the promoters took Mini Muthoottu into the corporate arena.

This arm of the Group has since built an impressive level of business and made for itself a reputation for reliability in private banking circles throughout Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The Group now comprises companies engaged in Financing, construction of own building, IT Park, joint venture with Banyan Tree Hotels, SEPZ for IT, Smart City, Plantation and Chain of Theatres.
