New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Satabdi Roy will appear before ED officials in Kolkata in the week after the current Lok Sabha session ends, for questioning in the Rs 15,000 crore Rose Valley chit fund case.
The Enforcement Directorate had earlier this month summoned Roy and suspended party leader Kunal Ghosh along with six others in connection with the case.
Speaking to the Millennium Post, a source in the know said that Roy is to be questioned about Rs 50 lakh in her bank account, which was allegedly transferred by the Rose Valley Group.
He added that the money in Roy's bank account was transferred directly from the chit fund company's accounts and that the TMC MP has not yet been able to satisfactorily explain what the funds were for.
The financial probe agency will now confront her again with the same entry of Rs 50 lakh in her accounts, purportedly from the Rose Valley Group.
