Shah, Rahul to visit Gujarat between July 13 and 17

New Delhi: Both the national party presidents of BJP and opposition Congress are scheduled to visit Gujarat in a quick succession. While Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah will attend series of programmes on both July 14 and 15, the Congress president, Rahul Gandhi's, two-day visit is probably scheduled on July 16 and 17.

According to the ruling BJP sources, Shah will reach Ahmedabad on July 13 night and will perform puja next day on the holy occasion of Rath Yatra as it is being widely celebrated in the state. "At the same day, Adhyakshji will also inaugurate the Youth Parliament programme. Fourteen speakers from different political parties will attend the programme, organised by Karnavati University," a senior party leader of Gujarat said.

Following that, Shah will also address party workers and office bearers of BJP on July 15, where the roadmap for 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be strategised, party sources mentioned.

On the other hand, Congress president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit the Saurashtra region of Gujarat during his two days visit and will address both farmers of that region and the traders at Bhavnagar.

Eying the impending general elections Gandhi will also address party's secretaries and general secretaries, party sources said. However, his tour to the state is yet to finalise by the state wing.

Later this month on July 21 and 22 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also visit Gujarat and will attend two programmes of Gujarat Forensic Sciences University and Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University in Gandhinagar.
