Scuffle over septic tank waste spillage leaves several injured in Siliguri

Siliguri: A heated altercation over a septic tank waste spillage escalated into a violent scuffle, leaving several women and men injured in Ward Number 39 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) late on Tuesday night. A critically injured woman has been admitted to Siliguri District Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred in the Seema Sarani area where Priyanka Kumari, a native of Bihar, had moved with her husband, Abilash Kumar, two years ago.

According to local sources, the couple’s septic tank had been overflowing and spilling waste onto the road for several days. Neighbours had previously requested them to address the issue, but the problem persisted.
