'RSS is a methodology of building an ideal nation with the ideal persona'
New Delhi: World's largest social organisation, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has commenced its three-day lecture session at Vigyan Bhawan here on Monday, titled, "Future of Bharat: An RSS Perspective", which aimed to bind different layers of the society, languages and philosophy in one string.
The Sangh chief, Mohan Bhagwat, said in his opening address, that, "Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a methodology of building an ideal nation with the ideal persona. In our country, the idols are the star, never reach them. We adore them, but do not try to be like them."
"Sangh's main aim is to present at least one swayamsevak in each corner, each village of Bharat, who is having a clean image and only aims to serve the nation by his sacrifice," he said.
Speaking to a star-studded audience, including religious leaders, film stars, sportspersons, industrialists and even envoys from different countries, the Sangh SarSanghChalak said, "An ideal human can change the behaviour of the society." Adding further, he also elaborated the meaning of 'Hinduness' for RSS and why it is being misapprehended. "Our nation has a heterogeneous culture. People have different eating habits, speak different languages and that sometimes create differences. Earlier, foreigners took the opportunity and utilised it to defeat us. There must be a common string to connect with each other. This needs a 'sacrifice' and 'moderation'. This nature is called 'Hinduness' or 'Hindutva'," Bhagwat said.
Representatives from different quarters have been invited to this session, which will end on September 19. A question sheet was also circulated at the programme for writing questions that will be answered by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on the valedictory session.
