New Delhi: Known for his investigative skills in solving highly mysterious cases of murder, abduction, loot, etc, 2005-batch IPS officer Manu Maharaj, who is currently posted as DIG Munger in Bihar, has again hit the headlines by solving a high-profile murder case in just 24 hours of its occurrence. The incident had taken place on Friday.
The case relates to the murder of the niece of an RJD MLA Vijay Kumar Vijay from Munger and her 'friend' 25-year-old Asif. Both the deceased had studied together in Kota for medical competition prior to the woman moving to Delhi to prepare for her medical examinations.
While talking to Millennium Post, Munger DIG Manu Maharaj said, "As we got the body in possession, a forensic team was pressed into the
service and collected evidences from the spot."
"We zeroed in the investigation on Mohammad Danish, who turned out to be Asif's friend, and confessed to the crime. Police have recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges,
empty cartridges, mobile phones of the deceased and clothes that were used for strangulating the woman."
